OUR MAIN PROJECTS

Deinstitutionalization of Russian Orphans (2000-2004 continued):
Fulfilled in partnership and supported by American NGO Kidsave International. The work on the Project aimed at creating a regional system for prevention of social orphanhood and de-institutionalization of children living in childcare institutions was begun in the Novgorod Region (in 2000-2001); as a result of this work in April 2001 Novgorod regional Duma passed the amendments to the Law, legalizing patronat family placement of orphans. Then the Project was continued in Smolensk Region, where Programs of Family placement of about 250 inmates of orphanages to the families of Smolensk Region for period of Summer and Winter school vacations were realized during 2002-2003; also the deinstitutionalization draft Law was proposed and is considered now in Smolensk Region. This work is continued.

Implementation of organizational technologies of prevention of social orphanhood and child neglect and the protection of childrens rights for the family in the Nizhny Novgorod region (2003):
Supported by British Council in frames of DISPS-2 Program. Fulfilled in Nizhnyi Novgorod Region.

Promotion on the municipal, regional and federal levels of Russia of new organizational forms and technologies of protection of children's rights, of prevention of child neglect, child orphanhood, of developing of family care for orphans and rehabilitation of biological families at risk. (2003):
Supported by the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Moscow in frames of Matra/Kap Program Fulfilled in the Moscow Region and in Smolensk Region.

Projects on founding childrens rights organisations:
Center for human rights service for children World of childhood in Belorechensk, Krasnodar region (1999); the project was funded by the Swiss government. In the framework of ARO projects in 2001 we founded two NGOs: Happy childhood in Borovichi of Novgorod region and Family and the right in Dzerzhinsk of Nizhe-gorodskiy region; and Children and the right in Roslavl of Smolensk region in 2002.

Help the children project:
provision of humanitarian aid to childcare institutions of various types in different regions of the Russian Federation; financed by the French NGO ACER-RUSSIE.
